First 30 minutes with PRplus
A focused walkthrough for new accounts. Built for PR teams evaluating the platform — start here, click through in order, and you'll have hit every feature that matters.
How to use this guide:Open it in one tab, your PRplus dashboard in another. Each section takes 3-5 minutes. You don't need to add real client data to evaluate the workflow, but new workspaces start with sample data off so it is always clear what is real. If you want a populated walkthrough, an owner can turn sample data on from Settings → Organization.
Minutes 0-5 · The dashboard
When you sign in, the first thing you'll see is /dashboard. This is your daily home — a snapshot of every client you track, what's trending in their space, and anything that needs your attention.
Three things to scan on the dashboard:
- Top trends — emerging topics across the platforms we monitor (X, Reddit, news, Google Trends). Click any trend to see the underlying mentions driving it.
- Recent mentions — every time one of your tracked clients gets mentioned somewhere on the internet, it lands here. Sentiment is auto-classified.
- Active alerts — rules you (or a teammate) set up that fired recently. Mention spikes, sentiment crashes, new tracked competitor coverage, that kind of thing.
Don't worry about reading every row. The point of this minute is getting a feel for the layout.
Minutes 5-10 · Clients
Click Clientsin the left nav. A “client” in PRplus is anything you track on behalf of someone — your own agency's brands, your customers' brands, a competitor you want eyes on, a product launch.
On a fresh account you'll start with an honest empty state. Add a real client, or ask an owner to temporarily enable sample data if you want to see populated client pages before setup. Once a client exists, you'll see:
- Brand voice— a few sentences describing the client's tone. The AI uses this when drafting pitches so they sound like the brand, not generic press-release speak.
- Keywords— what we scan for when monitoring mentions. Multiple variants are fine (“Patagonia”, “Worn Wear”, “sustainable activewear”).
- Mentions feed— every match for that client's keywords, with sentiment + source.
Try it: click + Add clientat the top of the Clients page and add one of YOUR real clients. Brand name, 2-3 keywords, a sentence or two of brand voice. Save. PRplus starts scanning within a few minutes — by the time you've finished this guide, you'll have real mentions for them.
Minutes 10-15 · Trends
Click Trends in the left nav. This is where PRplus earns its keep — instead of you scanning Twitter / Reddit / news sites yourself, we surface the topics that are gaining velocity right now in spaces relevant to your clients.
Each trend shows:
- Topic — what people are talking about
- Velocity— how fast it's growing (a number + an arrow)
- Top platforms — where the conversation is happening
- Suggested clients — which of your tracked clients are well-positioned to comment on this
Try it: pick any trend and click Draft pitch. That kicks off a pitch-writing flow specifically tied to the trend + a relevant client. Takes ~10 seconds. You'll get 3 outlet- specific drafts.
Minutes 15-20 · Press Materials
Click Press Materials. Your pitch from minute 12 should be sitting at the top in Draft status.
PRplus has an opinionated pitch workflow:
- Draft — the AI writes 1-3 versions targeted at specific outlets. You review and edit.
- In review — submitted to a teammate (or yourself, on solo accounts) for approval. Tracked.
- Approved — ready to send to the journalist.
- Sent — marked as out the door. We track replies and placements from here.
Click into your draft and you'll see what the AI generated — subject line, body, suggested journalist + outlet. Edit anything you want. There's a quality coach on the right that flags weak hooks, missing data points, or generic phrasing.
Minutes 20-25 · Agents
Click Agents. This is the AI surface — natural- language access to everything in your platform. Instead of digging through 5 different pages to answer “how is Patagonia trending this week vs last week?”, you ask the agent.
Try a few prompts:
- “What are the hottest trends across all my clients right now?”
- “Draft a pitch about [topic] for [client], targeting Bloomberg.”
- “Show me every mention of [client] in the last 24 hours, sorted by sentiment.”
The agent has tools wired in — it can actually pull your data, not just chat about it. You'll see what it queried in the chat (e.g., “Reading mentions for Patagonia, last 24h”).
Minutes 25-30 · Settings & feedback
Two last clicks before you're oriented:
- Settings → Organization — change the org name, timezone, ingestion frequency, and sample-data preference. New workspaces default to sample data OFF; only turn it on for a demo walkthrough, then turn it back off before reviewing real coverage.
- Settings → Notifications — pick which events email you (pitch sent, pitch reply, mention surge, daily client digest, weekly client summary). Defaults are reasonable; tune per-client if you want.
What to do next
- Add 2-3 of your real clients on the Clients page. Mentions and trends start populating after the first source scan.
- Invite your teammate from Settings → Team. They can collaborate on pitches, review drafts, and split client ownership.
- Send us feedback as it comes up.While you're poking around, share what you like and what feels clunky — text us, email us, send a Slack DM, whatever's fastest. We make changes in real time during the demo period. Don't sit on small annoyances.
If something doesn't work
The platform is in active beta. If a page errors, a feature doesn't respond, or an AI response looks weird, screenshot it and send to us. We log every error with full context, so we can usually diagnose from the screenshot alone.
For account questions, billing, or anything urgent: see the rest of the help center or click Contact us at the top of any page.
